Former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson was among several familiar MMA faces to take part in this year’s ADCCs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Unlike in 2013, when he advanced to the quarterfinals of the -77 kg division, Henderson exited early in this year’s competition. His opening round match against Dagestan’s Abdukadirov Magomed ended with Magomed winning by rear-naked choke, which you can view in the video below (provided by MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz):

Henderson’s previous ADCC elimination in 2013 was by armbar vs. Otavio Sousa. With his ADCC over for this year, he’ll focus on his November 28th welterweight main event vs. Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night in South Korea.
Meanwhile, Magomed will face UFC lightweight prospect Gilbert Burns in the quarterfinals, with the winner advancing to Sunday’s medal round. You can continue following and discussing this year’s ADCC championships by clicking this link.
