Several weeks ago, Miesha Tate was promised a third opportunity to attempt to solve the puzzle that is Ronda Rousey. However, following the UFC champion’s appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday, it became clear that the promotion had decided to pass over Tate for the next title shot.
Following the announcement that UFC 195 will feature a headlining bout between Rousey and Holly Holm, Tate’s manager spoke to MMAFighting.com and revealed that the announcement was made before Tate was even informed that she had been overlooked.

“I want to know the reasons behind [the decision],” Josh Jones of KHI Management told MMAFighting.com. “To not even be given a head’s up is very disappointing. She doesn’t even know yet. She is going to be absolutely shocked.
“I found out just like you did. Very disappointed to hear the news.”
Tate had already gone under the assumption that her title shot was a guaranteed one, as she made a recent appearance on the MMA Hour to stake her claim.
“You can’t tell me that there’s a single girl out there who deserves it more than I do right now,” Tate said on The MMA Hour. “I’m confident in saying that because I told everyone that I would work my way back to the title and I would earn that, and I have.”
UFC 195 is scheduled to take place January 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
