Back in 2011, the UFC ran a huge event in Rogers Center in Toronto, drawing over 55,000 fans to UFC 129. Later this year, they’ll try to top that mark in Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. The Sydney Herald is reporting that UFC 193 is set for the stadium on November 15th.

The show, which will air on November 14th in North America due to the time difference, will be headlined by a UFC welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and former interim champ (and WEC champ) Carlos Condit. Also announced for the show is a rematch of one of the best heavyweight fights of all time with Mark Hunt taking on Antonio Silva. Michael Bisping vs. Robert Whittaker, Jake Matthews vs. Akbarh Arreola, Kyle Noke vs. Peter Sobotta, Rich Walsh vs. Steve Kennedy, and Dan Kelly vs. Ricardo Abreu are also set for the event.

UFC president Dana White told the Melbourne Herald Sun that UFC 193 could do well north of 55k in attendance:

“There’s been a lot of talk about Melbourne, title fights and stadium shows. The UFC is doing all three at the Etihad Stadium in front of 70,000 people.”

Victoria, the Australian state where Melbourne is located, recently lifted a ban on cage fighting which paved the way for this show to go down.
