CM Punk signed with the UFC late last year, and made it clear that his debut wouldn’t take place for a while. As a former WWE wrestler, he brings a lot of visibility to any fight he’s going to take, so naturally there are fighters that are lining up to be the B side in that bout.
So while it may not have been his intention in this case, welterweight Cathal Pendred’s Twitter joke (a subtweet, I might add) about Punk’s pad work may have seemed that way to Mr. Brooks. He responded, and that led to a very amusing Twitter war that you can read below. Enjoy.

There may be more on this – they’re still tweeting as I write this. Punk (0-0. 0-0 UFC) is hoping to make his debut either at the end of 2015 or in early 2016. Pendred (17-3-1, 4-1 UFC) is coming off his first UFC loss to John Howard last month.
