Tito Ortiz, former manager of Cris Cyborg, was on Inside MMA last night and made a huge claim about Cyborg vs. Ronda Rousey.

“I’ve heard from Cris [Justino] actually that the fight that’s supposed to be happening at the Cowboy’s arena… they offered the fight to Cris. I know her management said yes and I’ve told her, ‘Let’s do it.’ So I guess the ball’s all in Ronda [Rousey]’s corner and Ronda wants to do it. Dana said if Cris came down to 135 they’ll make the fight happen, so let’s see if Ronda accepts the fight,” Tito said.

Cyborg has been fighting with Invicta FC although it is rumored that the UFC pays her fight purses. She has historically fought at 145 pounds but her next bout is expected to be at 140 pounds.

UFC president Dana White has been talking up plans for an Autumn pay-per-view featuring Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo and Ronda Rousey. Unfortunately for Cyborg, Miesha Tate has been mentioned as Rousey’s opponent for that show.

There may be some confusion in Cyborg’s camp or between Tito’s ears as to what exactly the former Strikeforce women’s champ has been offered.

Ortiz also talked about his upcoming Bellator title fight against champ Liam McGeary at Bellator: Dynamite on September 19.
