One week ago at UFC 190, Ronda Rousey demolished another challenger in Bethe Correia in no time, in what has been her most personal fight so far. According to Dana White, it might have also been her most successful one.
The UFC president tweeted a picture yesterday, congratulating Rousey on multiple big accomplishments this year: winning three ESPY awards (actually two of them were won this year, for Best Fighter and Best Female Athlete), three million new followers and six billion impressions on social media, for being number one on the Nielsen Twitter TV ratings for sports events during fight week and, most notably, for “No. 1 PPV of 2015”.

No exact PPV numbers have surfaced, yet, but if this is true, then Rousey’s buyrate would indeed have exceeded mega PPV UFC 189, that featured two title fights with Conor McGregor vs. Chad Mendes and Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald, and an unprecedented PR marathon leading up to the event. The show has done “over a million” buys, according to the UFC. Rousey’s first fight in 2015, a 14-second submission win over Cat Zingano, gathered 600,000 buys. Looks like Rousey is indeed the UFC’s biggest star right now.
