On Saturday night, Ronda Rousey put on perhaps her most impressive performance to date, against previously undefeated challenger Bethe Correia. Coming in to this fight, all eyes were on Ronda Rousey. Fans were eager to see if the fighter-come-movie-star would be able to continue her insane streak of early finishes. Over the course of 34 seconds Ronda Rousey absolutely obliterated the under-prepared Corriea, before landing a devastating knockout blow.

Official result: Ronda Rousey defeats Bethe Correia by KO (punch) R1 0:34

What was the high point of the fight?

When a fight finishes within 34 seconds there isn’t a lot to analyse. Ronda Rousey effectively closed the distance and landed heavy blows to a flat-footed Corriea, before rendering her unconscious with a devastating power punch.

Where do these two go from here?

Ronda Rousey is the most dominant champion in UFC history and that is undeniable. No champion has ever dispatched as many contenders with such brutality and ease. We all want to see Rousey fight Cyborg Justino, but the onus is on the Brazilian to first make the 135lbs weight limit. Rousey’s next fight will likely be against Miesha Tate on December 5th in Dallas.

In all honestly Bethe Correia’s title shot came a little too soon. Correia is a talented fighter but is still so rough around the edges. A fight against Jessica Eye makes a lot of sense next time out .

Watch now, later, or never?

Watch this one right now. Ronda Rousey is on another level.
