Friday, August 7, Bloody Elbow presents live fight coverage of Glory 23 Las Vegas. Glory 23 is headlined by a big world title fight and airs live on Spike this Friday, August 7 with a fight time of 11:00 p.m. ET. Bloody Elbow will have live fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
For Glory’s first ever trip to the fight mecca of Las Vegas, the company is presenting a world title fight featuring arguably the best kickboxer on the planet today. Nieky Holzken has been the uncrowned king at Welterweight for the past few years, with wins over every active Glory Welterweight of note. A few months back, Glory’s then WW champ Joseph Valtellini was forced to vacate the title due to injury, giving Holzken the opportunity to go from uncrowned king to actual champion. Standing in his way is the popular highlight machine Raymond Daniels, a karate fighter known for his wild spinning KOs. This is a rematch from Glory 19, where Holzken KO’d Daniels in round 3 in the finals of a tournament.
Also on the card: the traditional Glory four man tournament. For Glory 23, that takes us to the Middleweight division for a tournament focused on rising American prospects. It’s a similar structure to the one used for Heavyweights at Glory 21. That ended up being a fun tournament despite being a bit low on name value – we’ll see how this one turns out. Biggest name here is Glory/Bellator (and UFC) veteran Dustin Jacoby. Rounding out the main card is rising American Heavyweight prospect Xavier Vigney, who is already 3-0 in 2015, taking a nice step up in competition against Daniel Sam.
Opening the night is the Glory Superfight Series headlined by Jamal Ben Saddik vs. Anderson Silva – check Bloody Elbow for a live stream of the Superfight Series.
