After an exhausting main card at UFC 190, all eyes were on the main event between reigning women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and Brazil’s Bethe Correia. It was either going to be another easy win for Ronda Rousey or the biggest upset in UFC history.

No gloves were touched. Rousey landed a short right hand early. Then several uppercuts and a knee. She pushed Correia to the ground but let her back up. A left hand, combination striking, another left hook, a knee to the body, and then a murderous right hand put Correia down and out. It was a wipeout. The replay showed she also hit her with a left hand while she was going down. It was stopped by the referee as soon as Correia hit the floor.

Official result: Ronda Rousey (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) def. Bethe Correia (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) via TKO (punches) at :33 of round 1 to remain the UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

Rousey didn’t even bother with the takedown and armbar. She flat out annihilated her standing and inflicted a severe beating on Correia. She remains the best women’s fighter in the world. Correia suffers her first ever defeat and it was a heavy one.
