Like practically everyone else, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo isn’t too fond of the newly designed UFC fighter kits by Reebok. The standardized uniforms are part of an exclusive sponsorship contract between the UFC and the sports apparel company, wearing them is mandatory for every UFC athlete during fight week and actual competition since this month. Many fighters have complained about the loss of individuality, as well as their own sponsors, which they won’t be allowed to showcase during UFC events anymore.

Jose Aldo is no different and goes so far as to compare the new uniforms to the television characters Power Rangers during a press conference at his Nova Uniao gym in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“It sucks, but what can we do?” Aldo said. “We know it’s a private company, everybody has their contracts. I don’t think it looks good, everyone has their own style. I can’t do anything about it, just talk. We have to accept. We are the Power Rangers.” (via MMA Fighting)

Aldo is currently recovering from a rib injury that kept him from a title defense against Conor McGregor at UFC 189. McGregor went on to beat Chad Mendes for the interim belt instead, and is now slated to unify the titles with Aldo on a date and venue, yet to be announced.
