UFC Bisping-Leites and UFC Duffee-Mir Vivisection: MMA Odds, Analysis, and Picks

Two UFC cards for the price of one on this week’s edition of the UFC Vivisection. Kid Nate hosts as analysts Zane Simon and Connor Ruebusch break down every fight for both UFC San Diego and UFC Glasgow.

The UFC makes its way to San Diego this Wednesday to deliver some solid mid-week action. Veteran and former heavyweight champion headlines the main card, with up-and-comer Todd Duffee aiming to build a career off his name. Mir has competed in the UFC since his second pro fight, in November of 2001, and his career has had many ups and downs since. What appeared at first to be a permanent downward spiral was saved recently when Mir stopped a depleted Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the first round. Duffee had a few hiccups of his own (who doesn’t remember when Mike Russow nearly ended his life with the dreaded hammerfist of doom?) but he’s since put together a three-fight winning streak. Josh Thomson and Tony Ferguson meet in a crossroads bout in the co-main.

On Saturday, the UFC makes its first trip to Glasgow Ireland with a fun card stacked with European prospects. Longtime British MMA ambassador Michael Bisping headlines, taking on the resurgent Thales Leites in a promising middleweight tilt. At this point it seems that Bisping’s hopes at UFC gold are forever dashed, but he seems quite capable of exacting that same fate on Leites should the Brazilian veteran fail to overwhelm him. Ross Pearson, Joe Duffy, and Joanne Calderwood highlight the undercard.
