According to a report by MMAFighting.com Renzo Gracie suffered a knee injury in preparation for his match with Matt Hughes and will require surgery before stepping foot on the mats again. While Matt Hughes is best known for his MMA exploits, he also made quite a splash at ADCC early in his career by defeating grappling luminaries Ricardo Almeida and Jeremy Horn. He went on to suffer defeats against Jeff Monson and fellow former UFC champion Tito Ortiz.
