Dan Henderson vs. Tim Boetsch
Official Result: Dan Henderson defeats Tim Boetsch by KO (punches), :28 of round one
What was the high point of the fight?
Twenty eight seconds was all it took for the 44-year-old phenomenon Dan Henderson to knock out Tim Boetsch. Henderson fought like always, with reckless abandon and went straight for Boetsch with a variety of heavy punches. Unfortunately for Boetsch, a few snuck in, including a “H-Bomb” which was the obvious high point of this fast fight.
Where do these two go from here?
Dan Henderson will go down as an all time great. Henderson is a UFC tournament winner, a two-weight PRIDE champion, a Strikeforce champion and the only man ever to knock Fedor out cold. There is nothing left for Dan Henderson to prove and the longer he fights, the greater the risk of him developing a life altering injury increases. At 44, retirement makes most sense for Henderson, but don’t expect Henderson to retire unless he is pressured by the UFC.
Tim Boetsch needs to go back to Matt Hume. Since leaving AMA Pankration to train with UFC veteran Marcus Davis, there has been a notable decline in Boetsch in-fight strategy. The best example of this can be seen in his fight against Thales Leites.
Watch now, later, or never?
