One  of the most well-known MMA boxers in the game, former UFC heavyweight Junior dos Santos has had his name discussed about representing Brazil in the Olympic Games at some point and though Cigano never felt like leaving MMA behind, he is still a supporter of Anderson Silva’s decision to tryout for the national Taekwondo squad for the 2016 games, in Rio de Janeiro.

As long as he plays it by the book just like everybody else, as it was reported by Portal do Vale Tudo during a interview with Radio Jovem Pan.

“There are many other athletes already training for it. The Olympic Games are a cycle. I think it’s all right for Anderson to try. If he passes the tryouts, then it would be fair”.

But when it comes to Silva, no one can recently ignore his positive steroid test, which left fans and fighters wondering if “The Spider” would ever come back to the Octagon. Dos Santos, however, is a fierce enforcer of the more strict testing.

“Nowadays the sports demands too much on the athletes, so some of them look for an outside advantage. The climax of that was what happened to Anderson. I am completely against it and I can speak clearly about it because I don’t use anything and I don’t need to. I’m 32 years old, I don’t need it. I hope it gets stricter so we can tell who is the real champion out there”.
