Frankie Edgar answered questions from the media in his pre-fight scrum ahead of his UFC Fight Night showdown against Urijah Faber in Manila, Philippines on Saturday. Among the topics discussed were his fight vs. Faber, next week’s UFC 187 main event between Anthony Johnson and Daniel Cormier, and the UFC 189 main event between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, who Edgar could conceivably fight in a title match-up down the line.

On any size advantage vs. Faber:

“You know I don’t think I have much of a size advantage. Urijah talks about it, he walks around 158-162 and that’s kind of what I walk around at. I think I may have like a half-inch on him so if that’s the size advantage I’ll take it. You know, I don’t really look at size, even when I was a little guy I didn’t really pay attention to it.”

On any areas of concern vs. Faber:

“I don’t think I have to avoid anything. I mean I feel confident anywhere this fight goes, I know he’s very opportunistic with submissions and in the scrambles especially, so I got to be aware of those things. But, pretty fast too and I scramble pretty well, too, so I just gotta make sure I’m on Ps and Qs and I’ll be alright.”

On what’s the biggest fight the UFC can do right now (in response to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao’s 4.4 million buys):

“The biggest fight they can do? I don’t know. If uh, Ronda Rousey fought Jon Jones or something? I don’t know if it’ll ever match something like [Mayweather vs. Pacquiao], but we’re catching steam and in years to come I’m sure we’ll see something like that.”
