With fight time drawing near, more and more fighters and analysts are making their predictions on how they fight will go. Not surprisingly, most favor the undefeated Mayweather. But not everyone.
MMA legend Bas Rutten was on Submission Radio recently to discuss the fight. Here’s what he had to say on who he picks to win, plus his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s recent statements about a theoretical fight with Mayweather:
I think Mayweather is in a lot of trouble with my answers, because I think Pacquiao is going to knock him out. I hope so. And Conor [McGregor] too. I don’t think he could do it in 30 seconds, because Mayweather has great foot work. He’s gotta lock him up. And it’s in a ring that makes it actually easier for Conor. Because if there’s a corner, he can drive him into the corner and then see if he can take him down. But yeah, Conor should not box with him.
So there’s the prediction from El Guapo: KO win for Pacquiao (and, in theory, McGregor too).

One other point of interest for boxing fans is this quote from Bas on a possible Bas Rutten vs. Evander Holyfield fight:
I was almost actually fighting Holyfied at one time. Evander Holyfield. Yeah, kickboxing match. But then they called me and they suddenly said ‘no more knees’. And then they called me like a week later again ‘no more low kicks’. They started taking all the weapons away. It was hilarious, but then he chose to get back into boxing. But that was pretty close to happening.
