At the recent Glory 20 event, British fighter Chi Lewis-Parry made quite an impression in his Glory debut. The former pro basketball player ran through the overmatched Yong Su Park, winning the fight in a quick 1st round KO. Post fight, he showed off his confident side, calling out Glory Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven.

Now, Chopper Chi will have the chance to take a big step towards a showdown with the champ, as he has been entered in the Glory 21 Heavyweight tournament. Lewis-Parry will face Everett Sims in one semifinal, while Xavier Vigney faces Maurice Jackson (stepping in for the previously announced Cody East). Winner will move on to a Heavyweight Contender tournament, and the winner there will get a shot at the belt.

In related news, Glory announced that Lewis-Parry’s Glory 20 win earned him credit for the #3 fastest KO in Glory history. Here’s the top 5:

#1. Tyrone Spong KO Danyo Ilunga, Glory 9, 0:16

#2. Daniel Ghita KO Jamal Ben Saddik, Glory 4, 0:20

#3. Chi Lewis-Parry KO Yong Su Park, Glory 20, 0:25

#4. Tyrone Spong KO Michael Duut, Glory 9, 0:31

#5. Anatoly Moiseev KO Max Baumert, Glory 20, 0:33

One last piece of Glory news: the company announced more fights for Glory 21. The May 8 show live from San Diego is headlined by Artem Levin vs. Simon Marcus and includes the previously mentioned Heavyweight tournament. Now, the card is taking shape.

On the main Spike card, Raymond Daniels will face an opponent yet to be named. During Glory 20, the announcers stated that opponent would be Chad Sugden, but that’s not yet officially confirmed by Glory. In the Superfight Series main event, Benjamin Adegbuyi takes on Anderson Braddock Silva. Adegbuyi is coming in off a win over Hesdy Gerges – you have to imagine a win here makes him the next challenger to Verhoeven. Four more fights are also announced for the Superfight Series – get the full fight card below.
