Danny Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs) is one of the top junior welterweights (140 lbs) in boxing, but this weekend’s NBC televised main event between the Philly native and Lamont Peterson at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be contested at a 143 lbs catchweight. What you might not know about him is that he has Polydactyly, which has given him an additional toe on his right foot. You can see the picture yourself in the tweet below:

According to Garcia, who showed off his extra digit to TMZ Sports, said he considers this an advantage when he fights in the ring.

“That’s why I’m never off balance and I’ve never been down.”

So now we know that Garcia not only has the power advantage over Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs), but he has the ever-decisive superiority in the “number of toes” department, and that’s not something you see everyday. Bloody Elbow will have more coverage on Garcia vs. Peterson heading into Saturday night’s event, but be sure to check out Bad Left Hook for all things boxing.
