Several months ago, disturbing details emerged regarding Alexander Emelianenko’s sexual assault case in Russia, and while it looks as though he is due for a significant prison sentence, it appears the heavyweight fighter has gotten married while in jail awaiting his final sentencing.

Tofight.ru confirmed the news with a source close to the fighter and were also informed that it was his new bride Pauline who had proposed to Alex and “nurtured” the idea.

The Russian heavyweight, who spent a portion of his career fighting under the PRIDE banner, was charged with sexual assault, “kidnapping” by withholding a passport, and the forced use of “narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.” Emelianenko allegedly stole his substitute housekeeper’s passport from her purse while she was cleaning the house and extorted her for sexual favours, while forcing her to consume narcotics.

Emelianenko pleaded non-guilty to all the charges levied against him. However, he did admit to “intimacy” with the victim, although his attorney claims “it was consensual.”
