
No UFC tonight? No problem, because World Series of Fighting has your MMA fix for this Saturday evening in Phoenix, Arizona. Undefeated lightweight champion Justin Gaethje defends his belt against hard-hitting Luis Palomino in the main event, while controversial signing, ex-UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva makes his promotional debut vs. Matt Hamill. Silva vs. Hamill, a rematch of their 2013 UFC fight which was a slow, plodding decision win for Thiago. This bout represents the first half of the LHW tournament semifinals, with Dave Branch and Ronny Markes set to compete later in the year. Jake Heun and Teddy Holder, who are also on the main card of tonight’s broadcast, are the reserves in this tourney.
UPDATE AT 8:30 PM ET: Matt Hamill is out of his fight with Thiago Silva due to illness and has been replaced by Teddy Holder. Check the fight card below for the new lineup.
