Color Bethe Correia unimpressed.
Even though her title fight with Ronda Rousey won’t happen for four more months, the challenger made an appearance on Flávio Canto’s TV show, Sensei, to talk about her upcoming bout. During the show, Bethe explained she felt that Ronda’s game is just incomplete.
“I was born a fighter,” said Bethe. “I have a warrior inside of me. I think it’s time to show Ronda is not all that people think she is. I know she’s been winning, but she shows a lot of holes in her game. To this day, every time I watch one of her fights, I keep waiting for something different to happen. I wait for her to show me MMA, some new move”.
Undefeated much like Rousey, Bethe also stated she knows what it is like to be afraid of losing for the first time and how she will use that fear as motivation.
“I’m ready to become the new champion. This is not just a title fight. It’s about defending our invincibility. She doesn’t want to lose it, I know she hates to lose, and so do I. I’m very competitive and I’m not mentally prepared to lose. I don’t think anyone is. So I’ll defend that with everything I have”.
Bethe has won her first three fights in the UFC and sports a 9-0 record, opposing Ronda’s 11-0, which includes five UFC title defenses, making it the third time Rousey defends her belt against a woman with a perfect record in the UFC, after Cat Zingano and Sara McMann.
