Fans can expect a long build up for Ronda Rousey’s next fight, as she’s set to take on Bethe Correia in Brazil at UFC 190. Correia has been campaigning for a title shot against Rousey, all the while making a point of challenging her “4 Horsewomen” crew (and beating them soundly). After Rousey’s quick destruction of Cat Zingano at UFC 184, Correia wanted to step in the cage and challenge Rousey in person, but UFC brass put the kaibosh on that idea.
The expectation then, was that Correia and fellow potential challenger Jessica Eye would face off for the spot of no. 1 contender, while Rousey took some time off for her Hollywood career. She’ll still be getting that time. UFC 190 doesn’t take place until August 1st in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. But in the meantime, the UFC has a fight to promote. Rousey and Correia faced off for the assembled media at the UFC’s press conference in Brazil, ahead of UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Laflare. Check out the video above.
