Ian McCall compares Team Alpha Male ‘tools’ to ‘frat guys,’ wants Benavidez next

They call Ian McCall “Uncle Creepy” for a reason.

The UFC flyweight is looking to write the latest chapter in the good ol’ American “Creepy Outsider vs. Frat Guy” story, as he campaigned for a fight against Team Alpha Male’s Joseph Benavidez, a man that already beat him two years ago.

“I’m going to put him back to sleep again, like (Demetrious Johnson) did,” McCall now said in a video interview with MMAJunkie.com.

McCall lost the first fight via unanimous decision, but it wasn’t the defeat itself that riles him so much. The main reason he wants to fight Benavidez again so badly is because he doesn’t like the no-shirt, show-off attitude of his team:

“I need to beat up someone from Alpha Male, and he seems like a good candidate – and he’s ranked above me. I’ll fight anybody, you know me. I don’t care. To have all those douchebags kind of – like, I literally walked out to the cage and I turned to my left and I saw all those f-cking tools, shirts off, chest bumping, and I couldn’t help but laugh. It was a little distracting, I’m not going to lie. It was kind of funny.”

McCall goes so far as to describe the California based team to “frat guys” from college, a breed of men he clearly dislikes and had a long history with as well.

“I’m not going to lie, I’m a douchebag too,” McCall said. “Let’s get this out there. But they just – this is going to sound even worse. I grew up fighting frat guys. That’s what we did in high school or college, just beat up frat dudes all the time. There was always kind of that rubbing on each other, I don’t like these guys that much. Words were said and I said something and back and forth. And, now I just – I don’t know. We like talking s— to each other. It’s kind of fun.”

Of his six UFC bouts, McCall only managed to win two. He lost his last fight via unanimous decision to John Lineker at UFC 183, a fight that Lineker failed to make weight for.
