Demetrious Johnson will step up for his sixth title defense on April 25th in the co-main event of UFC 186: Dillashaw vs. Barao 2, in Montreal, Canada’s Bell centre. After Johnson’s next possible challenger John Lineker failed to make weight again at UFC 183, he was finally told to move up to bantamweight. Therefore, Johnson will now face Kyoji Horiguchi from Japan, a former Shooto champion, unbeaten in four UFC outings. The UFC announced the fight today.

In exchange for the second title fight, another exciting bout has been axed: Originally, welterweight contenders Rory MacDonald and Hector Lombard were scheduled to face in each other in UFC 186’s co-main event spot. As the UFC announced, the fight has been pulled from the card.

The previously scheduled bout between welterweights Rory MacDonald and Hector Lombard has been removed from the card and updates for both fighters will be provided when available.

As of right now, no further explanation has been given on why the much anticipated encounter has been cancelled.
