Wiley veteran Gleison Tibau has stepped in to replace Yancy Medeiros against Ultimate Fighter Season 13 winner Tony Ferguson next month, at UFC 184. Medeiros was forced to withdraw from the bout, citing a foot injury.
Tibau last appeared in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver in Boston where he took a split-decision victory over ‘Stormin’ Norman Parke and has made a name for himself over the years for his ability to step into the fray whenever the UFC comes calling regardless of how much notice is given.
Tibau has been on a roll of late amassing 5 wins out of his last 6 bouts. He’s has been an octagon regular since 2006 and holds the record for the second longest amount of time inside the cage with the only man surpassing him being former champion Frankie Edgar.
Tony Ferguson has recently been living up to his early career hype winning 4 straight fights and collecting 7 wins out of his last 8 appearances
UFC 184 goes down in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 28th.
