Anderson Silva makes fun of Weidman vs. Belfort: ‘They could fall together’

Asked to make a prediction for the upcoming Middleweight title bout between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva initially preferred to tell a joke.

The former middleweight champion told Globo that his hope is to see both of them being KO’d. With none of his friends involved in the main event of UFC 184, “The Spider” says he will support his countryman but has no preference regarding who he may potentially face next.

“Can I make a joke first? It would be nice if they could both punch each other’s faces, they could fall together. I’m serious. No, i’m kidding. I want Vitor to win but I think that Weidman will beat him if the fight passes the second round. I don’t prefer any of them, my focus is on Nick Diaz, is to return and be happy doing the things that I have always done.”

While Anderson will fight Diaz at the main event of UFC 183 this Saturday, the middleweight title fight between Weidman and Belfort will take place on February 28. According to UFC president Dana White, “The Spider” will be granted with a title shot if he wins his next fight.
