There have been mumblings that Brock Lesnar will be looking for a UFC return after his pro-wrestling deal expires in a couple of months. Reportedly, even officials within the WWE are already expecting him to make a return to mixed martial arts.
Former opponents in Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem have already expressed interest in welcoming back the UFC’s top draw, and now, another heavyweight has tossed his name into the hat. Brendan Schaub had strong words for the former UFC champ during his appearance at the Jason Ellis Show:
“Doing fake wrestling is not the same as being in the UFC. You’re playing grab ass, you know if you’re gonna win or lose. Yeah, it’s hard on your body, great. He hasn’t been competing and training like I have. If he comes back to the UFC, I would 100-percent send him packing back to the fake wrestling.”
Schaub has lost 4 of his last 6 bouts, leading to Joe Rogan to put him on blast about possibly hanging up the gloves. On the other hand, any potential UFC return will have Lesnar come back as a 38-year-old who has dealt with health problems and hasn’t won an MMA bout in almost 5 years.
While most people may scoff at the call out, the UFC isn’t likely to put a cash cow in there against a title contender right out of the gate. So who knows, maybe this is one of those rare cases where a similar losing record actually gets you that big money fight.
