Following a highly unremarkable year for the UFC in Canada, the promotion has decided to return to Montreal, Canada for the first time since UFC 158 in March 2013.

It was announced on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight that the promotion had set aside the date of April 25th for UFC 186 in Montreal. No fights have been announced for the card.

2014 marked the first year since the sport’s legalization in Ontario that the UFC does not visit either Toronto or Montreal – even though tentative dates were booked for both. Instead, the UFC hosted three events in Canada this year: The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia in Quebec City back in April, UFC 174 in Vancouver and most recently UFC Fight Night: Halifax in Nova Scotia.

It also appears that the UFC will return to Canada again on Aug. 23 for a Fight Night event and host two events after that, potentially in Toronto and Calgary.

Also on the broadcast, the UFC revealed an array of potential host cities in the USA for the year, including Salt Lake City, New Orleans, Cleveland and Philadelphia. Brazil is expected to get seven events as well, while Mexico will get two shows in 2015.
