UFC president, Dana White has never been one to mince words when he’s not happy about something. As a matter of fact, he’s never been one to mince words about anything he’s feeling, so it’s no surprise that he had some very honest dialogue about fan favorite referee, Herb Dean’s performance during the Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier bout this past Saturday night at UFC 182.
Typically, when Dana White has words for a ref, the object of his vitriol is Steve Mazzagatti. This time, however, there isn’t much in the way of vitriol, just some disappointment in Dean’s officiating of the fifth round of the Bones/DC fight, as reported on by FOX Sports’ Ariel Helwani in this interview with White.
“Herb Dean, I always talk about him; I think he’s my favorite referee. He did a horrible job in the fifth round,” White said in a post-fight interview on FOX. “He let them clinch, literally for five minutes, but other than that, it was an amazing fight.”
