Our first #1 seed has fallen, and, interestingly, it’s not only one of the most decorated strikers in this tournament, it’s also one of this site’s most beloved. #1 seed Mark Hunt was upset by #4 seed Georges St. Pierre, 47-34. Sorry Army of Doom, it’s all over. Next up for GSP – another Pride Heavyweight great (and potentially a second straight K-1 Grand Prix champion) as he faces the winner of Fedor vs. Cro Cop
Today, a fighter very much in the news right now. UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones thinks his UFC 182 win over Daniel Cormier helps make his case for GOAT status. We’ll see how that win plays into his accolades right now. Today, the #3 seed Jones attempts to score a minor upset and take out #2 seed Bas Rutten. This could be an interesting one – Bas is much loved, Jon is… not. Bas is one of the sport’s great pioneers. And yet we’re just 2 days removed from an incredible performance by Jones. Let’s see how this plays out.
