Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier faced off in a culmination of one of the biggest rivalries MMA has had in years. The lead up was huge, and for the most part the actual bout delivered on its promise. During the final moments of the bout, there was even a bit of controversy from the two rivals where a few shots were thrown right at the final bell.

We wanted to see how the find unfolded, and we wanted to see how they speak about the rivalry after they’ve settled the score in the cage. Unfortunately, instead of properly concluding the night by delving more into the late scuffle and a possible end of the heated rivalry, we get nothing.

Shortly after the decision was announced, Joe Rogan told Jones that the PPV time was running out and he didn’t have enough time for a good interview. The champion got a quick word during the few seconds he was allowed to speak, while Cormier didn’t even get a chance at all.

“For everybody who bought a ‘Break Bones’ shirt, take it back now! You’re wasting your money!” Jones exclaimed, “He’s human. All the crap he talked, it motivated me. I took him down, five takedows to zero!”

“I’m sorry I’m being classless right now, but I do not like DC, and this is why I’m being this way.”

The punch after the bell, the beef not apparently being squashed — it had fans more intrigued in seeing how it all shakes out.

Instead, the broadcast went straight to their Harley Davidson ad and right down to the credits. It was a poorly paced show which even had Conor McGregor spending a good 10 minutes or so to promote a different card, but only a few seconds to spare for the actual headliners in the middle of a heated and emotional moment.

It’s not going to change their PPV buy rate by any means, but it’s certainly an unfortunate and anti-climactic way to end their most anticipated bout in a long while.
