Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier came out for the third round of their UFC 182 main event having fought two very close rounds. In the third there was an eye poke from Jon Jones that caused a brief stoppage in the fight. Once the action continued, Jones landed a big body kick and then both men tried, and failed, to take down the other.
The two began to clinch against the cage again and Jones landed a nice elbow inside. Interesting angle on an elbow from Jones. Cormier with a good two punch combo in the clinch. Cormier then pushed Jones’ back intot he cage but Jones spun him and landed a nice knee to the body.
Jones lands a good elbow inside. Now a good flurry from Jones, but then a return combo from Cormier. Jumping knee by Jones misses and Cormier swarms with punches. Shoulderbutt by Jones and Jones tried to jump for an armbar or something and can’t get anything.
I’ve got that one 10-9 Jones making it 29-28 Jones.
