So former WWE superstar CM Punk has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC. The promotion has made the announcement during the UFC 181 PPV, and here’s a quick vine clip featuring the 36-year-old pro-wrestler:
Welcome to the UFC @CMPunk! See you in 2015! https://t.co/X07ezdbmZl

Social media has been buzzing shortly after and here are the immediate reactions from twitter, most notably Ben Askren, who is upset that they picked an unproven ‘fake’ wrestler with no extensive martial arts background:
@ufc sign a fake wrestler, but not an Olympian who is the best WW in the world. Amateur move.

All you dummies believed @danawhite when he said I need more experience. Then he signs a 0-0 fake wrestler. LOL on you

Kind of cool that @CMPunk is going to fight. I can’t wait to read all the tweets of shitty 1-0 & 2-0 fighters calling him out.
