Tweet of the Day: Conor McGregor and WWE’s Sheamus bicker over hypothetical match

While Conor McGregor has put the entire UFC featherweight division on notice with his constant banter, it appears he is expanding his potential targets to heavyweights…in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

On Thursday evening, Sports Illustrated’s daily talk show ‘SINow’ tweeted fans a question asking them who would win in a fight between McGregor and Sheamus. While many would have expected McGregor to cast the first stone, it was Sheamus who took the first jab by claiming he does not hit “shoeshine boys.”

This immediately prompted a response from McGregor. He referred to Sheamus as a “celtic phoney” and offered to face him in a tag team match with Brock Lesnar as his partner.
