Michael Chandler and Will Brooks were engaged in a very entertaining fight at Bellator 131 when Brooks finally clipped Chandler with a hard shot that caused the former Bellator champion to walk backward and move his hands awkwardly at the referee, almost looking like he was waiving the fight off.
Brooks charged forward and landed a big flurry of strikes that forced the referee to jump in for the TKO stoppage.
Live, it looked like there may have been a foul that Chandler was complaining about, but replays confirmed that it was a clean strike and that Chandler just seemed out of it as a result.
As he covered up and didn’t fight back in any way, there was really no option for the referee except to stop the fight.
