Mike Richman was possibly going to be in position to fight Joe Warren for the Bellator title if he could find a way to get past UFC veteran Nam Phan at Bellator 131.
Fortunately for Richman, the way past Nam Phan just involved punching Phan in the head for less than 50 seconds.
Phan came out, stood at a horrible distance for the fight and didn’t move his head at all, allowing Richman to tee off with huge strikes that put Phan down. Follow up shots led to the stoppage and Richman getting his hand raised. It was a combination of a brilliant showing from Richman and a horrible showing for Phan, who may very well have nothing left to offer the mixed martial arts world.
Following the bout, Richman walked over to Joe Warren–who was currently on commentary–and pointed, making it clear that he was coming for Warren’s title.
