Melvin Manhoef wasn’t able to finish Joe Schilling in the first round as most had predicted would be the result of their Bellator 131 bout. He came close, stinging Schilling with a few big punches before following him to the mat and going bombs away with some huge punches.
Schilling hung tough, managed to not go out and survive until the second round.
Manhoef came out and threw a big left hand after Schilling was stinging him with some shots to open up the second round. Schilling then threw a huge two punch combination right to Manhoef’s chin that dropped Manhoef out cold. It was an ultra-violent knockout that left Manhoef out for several minutes.
Many felt that Schilling was brought in for this fight to be a knockout victim, but instead he scored one of the most stunning KOs of 2014 and certainly cemented a spot on future Bellator cards.
