It looks like Josh Grispi is facing additional legal troubles stemming from his arrest on domestic violence charges back in August. Those charges included “two counts of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of violating a restraining order, animal cruelty, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, drug possession to cultivate marijuana and improper storage of a large capacity firearm and rifle or shotgun near a child.” An officer at the time called it “the worst case of domestic abuse he’s ever seen.”
Shortly after his arrest, Grispi’s wife came to his defense, attempting to undercut the seriousness of the charges against him, while saying that she was looking to maintain their marriage. For many, that raised fears that without her testimony or willingness to work with authorities, the eventual sentencing of Grispi could be fairly light. That seems much less likely now, as the Boston Globe reports that Grispi will now be facing a number of additional charges:
The charges include animal cruelty and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — a dog — on various days from July 1 to July 31.
The charges also include six counts of witness intimidation, from Aug. 8 to 18. During that same period, he allegedly also committed two counts of tampering with a record for use in an official proceeding, and one count of attempting to procure another to commit perjury.
That could be a serious blow to any testimony of those willing to speak on his behalf.
