Friend and Jiu-Jitsu coach of Anderson Silva, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is sure that the “Spider” will have a shining return to the Octagon after a long recovery from a broken leg. Interviewed by R7, “Minotauro” is aware of the skills of Nick Diaz but thinks that the former UFC Middleweight champion will knock his opponent out at UFC 183, on January 31.
“Anderson is finishing his healing process. He already started his camp and will be ready on January. Diaz is a good fighter, he once was world champion at Strikeforce and a top contender in his division. Nick is ready for a five round fight and Anderson has to knock him out. Anderson will do it, I’m sure.”
Anderson hasn’t competed since his second bout with Chris Weidman, when the “Spider” had a kick checked in the second round and broke his left leg, in December, 2013, at UFC 168. Diaz’s layoff is even longer since he fought for the last time at UFC 158, in March of 2013, when he lost to Georges Saint-Pierre by unanimous decision.
