Maybe, just maybe, kickboxing is starting to gain a real foothold in the American sports landscape. Legacy FC has announced that they will be expanding their combat sports promotion to include not only MMA, but kickboxing as well. The bouts will air on AXS TV, the same platform as their classic MMA cards. And, as MMAjunkie reports, they already have their first few bout planned.

Their first card is set to take place on January 16th, and will feature 51-1 Valentina Shevchenko vs. 25-12 Lindsay Haycraft. Along side the women’s 135 lb bout, 42-15 Bellator vet Cosmo Alexandre will face off against 26-2 Regian Eersel. The final announced bout will be between 18-11 Michael Corley and 60-38 Marco Pique.

Alexandre has already debuted for Legacy FC, fighting in an MMA bout against Rey Trujillo back in Feburary at Legacy FC 28. Shevchenko will be making her Legacy FC debut in MMA, where she holds a 3-1 record, sometime shortly after her kickboxing debut for the promotion.
