It has been almost two years since Cung Le earned a vicious KO victory over Rich Franklin in the main event on the UFC’s first trip to Macau, China. Now, after a significant layoff from competition, Le will return to Macau once again for his second consecutive main event in the region, this time against Michael Bisping.
The UFC middleweight competitor joined MMA pundits for a media scrum at UFC on FOX 12 last month where he discussed an array of topics, including his expectations for this upcoming match-up against Bisping.
“I think it is an exciting match-up for the fans,” said Le. “I think he will come and bring it. He’s in good shape. (My) last three fights roughed me (up), one injury to another, but this time I’m all healed up. If I lose, I lose because he’s the better fighter.
“But I don’t plan to lose.”
Le also mentioned that he postponed several movie roles to focus all his effort on his upcoming “super fight” against Bisping.
“Being in Macau is very special because I was in the first main event with Rich Franklin in China. I just want to see what I can now do at 100 percent. I pushed a few movie projects just for this fight. Wasn’t like a leading role or anything but I really want to compete and be the main event. I love super fights and Michael Bisping is a super fight to me.”
