Earlier today LiverKick.com posted a video of Muay Thai star Buakaw Banchamek “playing” with a young dog. The problem is exactly what the title of the video implies, that Buakaw is not “playing” with the puppy, but rather abusing it.

Buakaw starts by playing a sort of “quit hitting yourself” game with the puppy, but is increasingly aggressive in how hard he hits the dog with its own paw. It gets worse as he continues and the dog begins trying to get away and yelps in obvious pain and panic. That takes about 10 seconds to unfold. At that point, Buakaw begins jamming the dog’s paw in it’s mouth which draws more desperate yelping before he begins to swat the dog in the face again.

There’s no world where this is “playing” with an animal. It’s cruelty and it’s disgusting.

Dave Walsh from Liver Kick summed things up quite well when he said, “If you’ve ever owned a dog before, you know the sounds a dog makes when its in pain and it’s not playing. Those are the sounds that this dog is making. Near the end of the video the dog is literally screaming out in pain.”

Buakaw is currently scheduled to fight Enriko Kehl in the main event of the K-1 event that was recently postponed from July 26 to October 4 and now is set for October 11.
