Today commenced the media tours for the big UFC 178: Jones vs. Cormier PPV in Las Vegas, Nevada, and those who were in attendance at the MGM Grand were treated to a good ol’ brawl between the light heavyweight champion Jones and the undefeated challenger Cormier. In the middle of it all was UFC director of PR Dave Sholler, who had the unfortunate and unexpected task of trying to separate the two. MMA Fighting captured the whole sequence, which you can view in the video player at the top of the post.
The story doesn’t end here, though. After the incident, Jones uploaded some more smack talk on Instagram.
The back-and-forth between the two headliners continued on Twitter, with Jones asking Cormier “where’s your takedown defense?” and Cormier responding in kind by telling Jones he “hits like a bitch”.

So for those of you who were itching for some UFC fights despite the lack of a card this weekend, Jones and Cormier provided you the goods. There’s another scheduled media day in Los Angeles tomorrow, and Jones, Cormier, Conor McGregor, and Dustin Poirier are all slated to appear once more as they did today.
In case you’re wondering, UFC president Dana White was not at the event, as he was on vacation.
