Interview: Will Brooks wants to unify Bellator titles, unsure of Alvarez’s plans
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

Bellator MMA lightweight champion Will Brooks spoke with The Fight Nerd earlier this week at the Bellator MMA Press Event in New York City about his newly won title and what is ahead for him in the promotion.

Brooks tells us about his excitement in replacing an injured Eddie Alvarez and defeating Michael Chandler at Bellator 120 en route to get that interim title (and how fast it all happened), and comments on Alvarez saying that his belt is just a trophy and is not the real thing. Brooks also talks about plans to unify his title with Alvarez, but is unsure what is going with Eddie and whether or not he will stay in the company at all.

Plus, Will discusses the recent change in power at Bellator MMA with Bjorn Rebney exiting the company and former Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker taking over the promotion, and tells us a bit more about his personal struggles coming up in the world that helped drive him to succeed and keep moving forward.
