The latest UFC rankings were released yesterday, and the biggest changes came in the featherweight and lightweight divisions. While Robbie Lawler and Anthony Johnson both came away with important victories at UFC on Fox 12, Lawler was already ranked #1 at welterweight thus didn’t improve his position, while “Rumble” stayed at #5 at light heavyweight. However, Bobby Green’s upset win over Josh Thomson and Dennis Bermudez’s stoppage victory against Clay Guida both moved men into the top 10 at lightweight and featherweight, respectively.
You can view the latest rankings here, which includes the individual ballots submitted by each panelist. Bloody Elbow’s ranking contingent consists of T.P Grant and Fraser Coffeen.
Pound-for-Pound: Daniel Cormier replaces Gilbert Melendez at #15 P4P.
Flyweight: No changes.
Men’s Bantamweight: No changes.
Women’s Bantamweight: Leslie Smith moves up to #13 ahead of 14th ranked Raquel Pennington.
Featherweight: Dennis Bermudez rockets from 12th to 7th. Clay Guida falls out of the top 10 and takes Bermudez’s old spot at 12th. Conor McGregor somehow moved up another spot to 9th, while Dennis Siver falls to 10th. Cub Swanson is once again occupying the 2nd spot while Frankie Edgar switches back to 3rd. Dustin Poirier improves to #5 while Chan Sung Jung is 6th, and if he doesn’t get a fight soon I would think he’ll be deemed “inactive”.
Lightweight: Bobby Green vaults from 13th to 7th, which drops Jim Miller to 8th and Myles Jury to 9th. Josh Thomson is knocked three spots down from 3rd to 6th, which sees Khabib Nurmagomedov (3rd), Donald Cerrone (4th), and Rafael dos Anjos (5th) all bumped up a spot. Edson Barboza falls out of the top 10 and is now 11th. Gray Maynard is knocked down to 12th and Rustam Khabilov is 13th.

Middleweight: For the 76th week in a row, Lyoto Machida (#2) and Vitor Belfort (#3) change positions.
Light Heavyweight: Antonio Rogerio Nogueira was taken off the active list prior to fighting Anthony Johnson. After his KO loss, he was eligible to be ranked again, and he’s now been placed at 14. Fabio Malodnado is pushed down to 15 and Ryan Jimmo is now unranked.
