Saturday July 12, Bloody Elbow presents live fight coverage of Canelo Alvarez vs. Erislandy Lara. The Showtime Boxing Canelo vs. Lara PPV airs live on Showtime PPV this Saturday, July 12. The show has a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT. Bloody Elbow will have live fight coverage, including results and discussion.

There’s no doubt that Canelo Alvarez is the A side attraction here – it’s his name that transforms this from a Showtime fight to a PPV fight. Yet despite that A status, Canelo is far from an overwhelming favorite tonight. This is a tough fight where the young superstar has a real chance of losing, and that’s reflected in the fight odds.

Here’s the line from Bovada:

Canelo -250
Lara: +195

Vegas Insider has it even closer at near even with Canelo at -165, Lara +135. Those are incredibly close odds for a boxing main event and show why so many people are calling this a 50/50 pick ’em fight.

The Abner Mares vs. Jonathan Oquendo fight that will lead in to Canelo vs. Lara is significantly more lopsided, with Mares the favorite at -1100, Oquendo at +650. Rounding out the PPV card, Mauricio Herrera is the favorite at -165 to Johan Perez’s +135, and Francisco Vargas is at -155 vs. Juan Manuel Lopez at +125.
