‘Bigfoot’ Silva promises to go for the finish against Andrei Arlovski, says he’s hungry

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva expressed his happiness for finally being scheduled to compete in Brazil. After being on the UFC roster since 2012, the heavyweight contender will headline the UFC Fight Night: Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2 card in September. In the rematch against Andrei Arlovski, Silva said that he expects to impose himself and beat his opponent, after a suspension for elevated testosterone levels following the Mark Hunt fight last December kept him on the sidelines for nine months.

“It was my dream to fight in Brazil,” Silva said in a press release. “I know that Arlovski is a great fighter and will be a hard test but I’m hungry and wanting a lot to step in the octagon again. You can expect me looking forward to winning all the time. I always go for the KO or the submission and won’t be different this time. I respect my opponent a lot but I’ll be focused, I want to impose my game and deliver a great show for the audience.”

The card will be the first promoted by the UFC in Brasília, which is the capital of Brazil and also where “Bigfoot” was born.

“It will be great to have the support of the crowd. It’s a big opportunity for me, I’m sure that it will be a great fight.”

Silva beat Arlovski at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery via unanimous decision back in May, 2010. The UFC former heavyweight champion is coming of a non convincing split decision win against Brendan Schaub at UFC 174 last June.
