Chris Weidman on getting a clean win at UFC 175: ‘Hopefully there is no ball breaking this time’

Not only does Chris Weidman want to leave the octagon having defended his title for a second consecutive time, he wants to do so in dominant fashion to ensure a “clean win.”

The UFC middleweight kingpin, who is scheduled to face former light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida in the main event of UFC 175 on Saturday night, is not totally satisfied with his wins over Anderson Silva and is very keen to wash away the memory with a “clean” win this time around.

“It is just that you want to knock out a guy or submit a guy, so for something like that [Silva snapping his leg] to happen is just not normal. I wasn’t happy really after my last fight at all. I couldn’t smile.”

“Coming into this next fight, hopefully there is no ball breaking and that I get a clean win.” he added.

UFC 175 takes place July 5th at the Mandalay bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
