Muay Thai Results & Videos: Superbank takes on Seksan in 5 round thriller!

The second of two big co-promotions in two successive days in Bangkok made it a great week for Muay Thai fans, as Sommai, one of Rajadamnern Stadium’s biggest promoters, co-promoted with Jarunmuang to put together a very strong and intriguing card with a mouth watering main event match up.

Superbank and Seksan war to a draw

In the main event, Superbank Sakchoichote, the undisputed king at 126lbs, moved up to 132lbs for an intriguing catch weight fight with Seksan Or Kwanmuang, one of Thailand’s finest purveyors of all out violence.

To the newcomer to Muay Thai, this can be compared stylistically to the first Miguel Cotto Vs Antonio Margarito fight, as the bigger Seksan tried to force his will on the smaller, but far more technical Superbank.

It was all Superbank in the early going, using his slickness to evade Seksan’s rushes and sweeping him to the mat. As expected, the always reliable Seksan kept coming and poured it on in the 4th (a high scoring round) to force a draw. Unlike in western boxing, a draw is neither a setback nor a sidewards move, and both men will likely be out against other elite fighters within the next month.

Other results from the undercard

Surachai Srisuriyanyotin defended his Rajadamnern super bantamweight title against Thanongsaklek Chuwattana. A very close fight, all judges have it 49:48 to the defending champ.

Chaisiri Sakniranrat won the vacant Rajadamnern super flyweight belt with a clear decision over Trakunphet Sor. Sommai.

Further to yesterdays results recap the super fight between Petchboonchu F.A Group and Yodwicha Por Boonsit for the Rajadamnern 140lb title is now available.
