Nate Diaz (along with brother Nick Diaz) have been on the UFC’s bad side lately. The two sides can’t seem to come to an agreement on acceptable pay or acceptable fights.
Most recently, the UFC removed Nate from their rankings due to “inactivity.” This happened in a ranking system that saw Dominick Cruz left as an active fighter despite years of inactivity due to injury — among other similar cases.
Tonight, at the start of the UFC 173 bout between Robbie Lawler and Jake Ellenberger, Nate tweeted, “Hey remember 2 months ago @ufc offered me jake ellenburger fight but he turned it down and they asked me to keep it quiet #idontgiveafuck.”
If this is true, it’s unlikely to make discussions more productive between Diaz, manager Mike Kogan and the UFC.
Diaz won his most recent fight, a brilliant TKO of Gray Maynard at the halfway point of the first round at the Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale.
